Welcome to Tanzania Agriculture Partnership

Tanzania Agricultural Partnership (TAP) is an initiative which brings local, national and international partners together to respond to current constraints and opportunities in agriculture.

This mix of interests and resources will provide more choices and improved services to the country’s farmers and agri-business. It will also sustainably stimulate food production.

For the small scale farmer in particular this means an opportunity to move from subsistence agriculture to sustainable and business oriented farming.

TAP’s immediate objectives are to:

• Appropriate inputs are affordable and accessible to small holder farmers throughout Tanzania.
• Output market linkages are improved.
• Profitable agricultural production is increased.
• Private sector investment is stimulated.
• Benchmarks for best practices in development and commerce are established.

TAP will carry out its activities in 25 selected districts in the first two years (2008-2010) but other districts will be included as work progresses. It is envisaged that over four years TAP will work in some 90 districts.
